sill angle problem replacement window
:)i am instaling new vinyl replacement windows. there is this plastic strip that goes in the bottom of the window (sill angle). is this to be put into the window before its in the window opening or after? it keeps falling out of place when i go to install the window:furious:. should it be cut at all to match the angle of my sill?
My guess is that you are installing a retrograde window that has no fins.
This sill is meant to keep water out of the house and should be installed. Yes you can trim it back but make sure that it is sticking out far enough to keep the water from getting underneath and down the inside of the siding.
Most of them are made to go in with the window. If you can't get it in that way then put a small amount of glue on the underside to hold it in while you are installing the window. I would not put a screw through it unless you know what you are dong and know how to seal it so it doesn't leak.
