Shower curtain rod problem

I have a bathroom in my house. The bathtub is the normal 60", but behind it is a small sitting area/ledge (17"). So that makes the entire opening 77" wide! To make the problem worse is the wall next to the bathtub has beautiful tiles laid into a really nice design. So I don't want to get one that turn 90 degrees (because I'd have to drill into the nice tiles).

I can see if I can find a shower curtain rod that can accommodate such a large opening (77") but even if I did, I can find a curtain that can keep the water from escaping/splashing from the tub area but not from the ledge. I won't be able to keep the water from escaping from the ledge.

Anyone have any ideas how I can keep water from escaping from the tub and ledge area?

See attached for picture of the layout.

Shower curtain rod problem

Use two shower curtains? Maybe open them from the center like a theater curtain?

I kind of like that. So the one over the ledge (it's about 4-6" taller than the bathtub) will be 1 curtain, and the tub will be another? But then everytime we replace that one curtain (the one over the ledge), we'd have to cut it a bit?

How often do you replace curtains? Get two you like and look good cut it. Then get a pair of cheap washable liners, cut them to fit and wash them as needed.

I've had the same shower curtains for 5 years. Don't anticipate having to change it any time soon.

Make your own curtain rod from closet rods or something similiar and mount it to the ceiling.

I like the ceiling mount idea unless the ceiling is really tall.
