Should Trim Carpenters apply caulking with their exterior work?

oops misread.. this is for exterior. for exterior we caulk all our own work not for paint reasons but for keeping the place weather tight. the odd time i have seen painters caulking exterior trim they used dap and not a poly butyl siding caulking, we also paint our cut ends before the trim and siding hits the walls..

almost all the exterior work we do is with prefinished product. if after the fact it needs touchups we do it ourself as were tearing down scaffold..

interior though its the painters job

Trim carpenters don't caulk. Good trim carpenters don't need caulk.
