Should I put 2x6 or 2x10 above garage if I plan to finish the room in the future?


Ok, then if they are running the 24'
Then you do need the beam in the middle for support
That 'splains it
I'm not sure why they would do that instead of spanning the 13'
But I guess they have their reasons

They are grading/clear my lot Wednesday and getting the trenches for the foundation dug on Wednesday. I should talk to them later in the week. I'll ask!

I just talked to the builder this morning, I wish I would've seen your post first. We decided to have (2) 9' garage doors instead of the 1 large 18' garage door they usually use. They are charging me an extra $800 for this.
