sheathing sofits/fascia with aluminum

hi. the rafters on my small shed overhang 10" on each side and i decided to enclose/wrap the overhang with some OSB first to protect the lumber from weathering and then wrap aluminum sheet around it. i already posted the OSB underneath (the rafter have L endings, so i nailed the horizontal 10" wide cut of OSB to the bottom of the L and will brace to the wall sheathing for firmness).

my question is: what kind of aluminum sheet metal should i get and in which kind of store should i look (i doubt big boxes carry it) ?

It's call coil stock
Some box stores carry it
All of your siding suppliers will carry it as well as most lumberyards.

I would put some kind of solid fascia on the rafter tails.
Don't rely on your coil stock to have enough strength across the bay openings.

oh yes, i was definitely gonna put OSB on the rafter tails or maybe 1x4 if i decide i don't feel like cutting OSB lengthwise (i hate doing that). and then post the aluminum coil stock over that as well as the sofit under.

thanks again for all your help.

yikes...i would pull off the osb you have installed at the soffit,do not use osb for the facia, install a 1or2x6 at the rafter ends

Use an F shaped soffit channel and use vinyl soffit

download and read this

osb is ok for sheathing, where it is supported on all four sides. I'd NEVER use it for that purpose
