Sheathing

When install sheathing is it normal to seal the 1/8" gap between panels with a caulk, sealant or spray foam or should you leave that gap unsealed so it can expand and contract?

Sheathing

leave the gap.. wall sheathing gets spaced hte thickness of a hand spike ( 3 1/2" common. roof sheathing is automatically spaced by the H clips that support the edges if your not using tongue and groove sheathing/

its specifically so it can expand and contract. mind you in some regions a larger gap is required

Totally off topic... but why do you keep creating new user names and asking the same questions repeatedly? It's terribly annoying...

For anyone that hasn't pieced it together yet, "detroittigerfan" is "markharmon" and a number of other user names. Go back and compare posts, account creation date, etc. Sorry, ::end rant::
