Sealer for gap between brick facing and garage door openings

I have a house with brick facing on the front side. Where the brickwork meets the 2X6s that frame the garage doors, there is a substantial gap that was caulked many years ago. That caulk has deteriorated and needs to be replaced. The gap is really too big to use a regular caulking gun and I'm not sure what product I should use to seal between bricks and wood. Any ideas, fellows?

Expanding foam. You can get either the large gap stuff or the minimally expanding stuff.
If this for air stoppage from the exterior?

Ron is on the money. Use the minimal expanding foam. Let it dry good after it expands out of the gaps. Trim it back with a utility knife then apply caulk over the foam. If done right you will never know there's foam in the gaps.

Closed-cell poly backer rod and caulk will allow movement with the two different materials and give you a bond break yet still stop air and water entry. Spray foam won't give you the required shape needed behind the caulk for the optimum "hour-glass" shape needed for movement.
