Saving old brick wall for security fence after demo
Would like to save a rear wall of a garage after demo of the balance. This rear wall is on the lot line and would be a great secure fence. Its 12 ft high and 80 ft long. In an industrial area. I could leave a couple feet out on the ends for strength. Can it be utilized?
thanks in advance
Sorry for the late reply to this, we are trying to bring the site back up to speed. I am curious how this turned out for you. I was in the fence business for a while so think this is an excellent idea. It also allows you to keep the property where it should be since it is already there. I know where I am from if you took it down and them but up fence it would have to be moved since it wasn't there to begin with. Hope all worked out for you and lets us know how it went!!
Daman3178, We were able to work around this building at this time but we would like to take it down within 2 years. We talked to a fence guy who wants to drill holes through the slab on the inside of the building against the wall. He will then stick post and secure to wall every 12 ft. We will probable give this a try when we decide to pull the trigger in the future. Also after further inspection the wood joist are mortored into the top of the wall, so we would have to cut every seperate joist to free it from the wall.
Will keep this forum update on the progress.
