Sand stone ( name )

Hello
Builders of old.
I have a couple of long blocks of sand stone Light brown Very smooth on the flat surface, Measures about 24" to 26 " long X 2" thick and maybe 4 " wide.
I'm trying to locate a source here in Michigan But I don't know what to ask for?
They look like the one's used in 1950's for dressing up the front of a home up about 48" from the ground.

I have been to a large stone company and their's were rough on the flat side not that real smooth finish?
Perhaps someone may have a name for this type of block.
thanks

Here on Long Island we call this cap stone. 2"x4"-6"-8" widths comes in what ever lenght up to 6'-8'. What you saw was what we here call a stone face edge. you might have a polished stone (smooth)

I have the sandstone stuff in my house too. Definately the 50's look. It is milled flat (not polished) on the top and bottom surfaces, and has broken faces. Wish I knew what to call it...
