Rough Estimate for Carport Enclosed Framing
I'm trying to find out about what a carpenter would charge to frame in a carport, just the framing part. At maximum it's going to take 20 2 x 4's and some nails. Has two open walls that need enclosed. I worked with a person who was a good friend and he did a room addition and it was like $15,000 but he did a bunch of work. I need two walls omly framed for plywood with two windows and a door.
I was thinking a handyman but reading up on their costs seems to say they are limited to a certain amount of money from one residence per year. But that is different in different states.
I'd be buying the lumber, and all. Just need someone that can do it. Just looking for ball park figures.
The house is in Arkansas, it's a concrete slab that was jack hammered out and repoured a few years ago, but I don't know if they poured footings under it. Would probably need the concrete blocks laid around it due to water.
Guess you missed the sticky saying why to not ask what something cost to build.
Way to many factors to even guess.
Even if someone gave you a "ball park" figure what good would it do you.
No one here has seen your job.
Just some of the factors to concider when doing this is zoning, how far above grade those walls will be so water will not get in under the walls, how are you going to run water, power, and HVAC out there.
Is the floor of the carport concrete? If so, it's likely just a slab with no footers. Not legal in most places to turn such a carport into living space.
Stacy, You may wish to go to a lumber yard and ask if they have a list of carpenters----
Have you made a set of plans yet? Water will spill under the walls if built on the slab,so some concrete block work may be needed.
What you have in mind may not work well----any structure attached to the house needs footings that extend below the frost line-----most exterior slabs move up and down with the seasons---fine if they are free standing---but big trouble if attached to a structure the does not float up and down----
Also need to go back and add your location to your profile.

Yes it makes a big differance.
Also posting pictures helps a lot.
