rotted window sill - repair or replace
I have a picture window with single hung windows on either side and
I recently discovered a rotted window sill / sub sill / under one of the single hung windows extending under the picture window. part of the jamb is rotted out too. Is this something worth repairing or is it more advisable to replace and rough in new replacement windows? |
Could you post some pictures? Maybe it's not as bad as it sounds.
If it does come down to replace as opposed to repair, I'm of the camp that would say, full tearout and replace with new construction windows. I don't like replacement windows. |

If you’re happy with what you have then a decent carpenter should be able to replace the sills in a short day if that’s all that’s rotted. If you want to DIY then a Sawzall and a Table Saw are a must. |
