room addition on piers

My contractor used 12 " piers to support our addition. the specs said to use 24x24" pads 6" thick with a 12 " pier on the pad. contractor used no support pad.
My question is will the 12" piers sink as a result of the lack of the pad??

Ask your engineer who drew up the plans. Without geotechnical reports and structural loading requirements, this question cannot be answered or even guessed.

If you r specs said to have a 24" X 24" X 6" footing and your contractor did not put them in, then I would have him put the dang things in.

Andy.
