Com, before everyone beats you up let me say that you really need to provide a whole lot more info than that! You're gonna have to provide pics so the roofers on here can give some decent advice. Better yet, do you know anyone in your area that is trustworthy and can give you some suggestions? Also don't be afraid to do a google search on "gable roofs over a deck."

Roofers don't frame gable roofs. Roofers install the shingles on the roof.

Gotcha Joe, my point was really the LACK of information not which trade did the framing................I know one thing, if you're asking how to frame a gable roof on a roofing forum you're in a whole heap of trouble. I did not mean to offend framers or roofers for that matter. My deepest apologies.

Lol....I wasn't offended at all. Just clearing up that roofers don't frame the roof. A DIY'er might read what you said and think/call a roofer to frame a roof.
