Roof Felt Instead of Tyvek for Shed?

Just trying to see where I can cut some costs as this shed project is adding up quick!

I bought a roll of roof felt at Lowes for $24. Not a bad price but there's like 400 feet of it. Since Lowes doesn't sell their 3'x100' rolls of housewrap anymore, my only option is the 9'x150' roll for $100. That's fine but i'd have SO much extra wrap that i'd never use it so its just a waste of money and material. Somebody on another thread I started said if I wasn't going to use Tyvek to at least use roofing felt. So.....would this be okay? I'll have a crazy surplus of roof felt otherwise. It's just a shed. Thanks!

The felt is just fine for a shed.

It's fine for your home too.

I never said it's not good enough for your home. Just answered the question. That's all no biggie.

I've pulled off old siding on 80 year old walls with felt still on them and in fine shape, though more dry than when it went on the wall. As long as no sunlight/water gets through the siding the felt will be fine

just curious, what are you using for siding on your shed?

...and not to hi-jack this post, how about using the felt for vapor barrier on concrete foundation walls? (not cinder-block wall)

concrete might be to damp a surface for felt to go on, I'd assume the felt would start to break down and meld to the concrete...
