RO sliding glass doorwall

I have a used exterior sliding glass door wall I am putting in the rear of my house. How much larger do I make the rough opening? Is the rough opening flashed with tape like for a window? Is there anything else I need to know?

Thanks in advance to all who help.

I made my RO about 3/4 inch larger for squaring door. If the door will be to the weather you will need to make an aluminum pan to go under it to keep water out.

I assume I then shim under the aluminum frame so the doors will slide properly?

I never did shim under the bottom of a door, if the floor is off then it will show big time if you shim one side higher than the flooring and the threshold strip or the track in your case will bend. The track has got to be on solid flooring for support of entire track.
