Wondering if I can install a 1" rigid foam board over my 3/4" plywood subfloor, and lay durock or schluter and tile on top of it.
The bathroom is over a cold crawlspace, and I could benefit from the extra 1" thickness to line up with an adjacent floor. Just wondering if would deflect at all and can support tile.
That want work anything you put on top of foam board will constantly be moving, grout want stay and tile will brake. Ideally the foam broad would be put under the sub-floor. If you have a crawl space that's the way to go.
I'm not a professional., But I did stay at Holiday Inn Express last night.
