Ridge and hip shingles

I have some of these left over from when they were building our house. If they are still as a whole and not broken up can I use them for a flat surface shingle? They look identical to what regular shingles look only they have a perforation on the back.

Thanks.

Ridge and hip shingles

The perforations are there so each tab can easily be separated for the cap on the ridge or hip.

I would not use them for any other use except for cap or for your starter row.

I wouldn't think that you would have that much left over anyway, a bundle maybe?

If you need to do additional roofing, just buy the appropriate archi/3 tab or whatever you are using. Keep the hip/ridge for just that.

OK Thanks!
I wasn't sure if these were good for that or not. I got about 3.5 packs of the ridge/hip and a pack of 3 tab.
