Reusing Ceiling Panel As Insulator

Hi,
I'm trying to refinish my basement living room's ceiling. I removed the 30 years old ceiling panels. I'm planning to put some sound insluation between the ceiling studs (QuietZone pink fiberglass), and drywall.

I noticed that without the ceiling tiles the noise from upstairs can be very loud, and I can see that the old panels were doing some noise reduction.

Could I reuse these panels and stuff them between the ceiling studs, together with the insulation (as another insulation layer)? Would it help in noise reduction

Thanks

yes. pretty much anything helps.
what are the plans for the actual ceiling? drywall? consider using z-bar to further reduce sound transfer.

Thank you for the quick answer.

We are planning to put drywall. Where can I find some description about the z-bar? Is it similar to the resilient channel?

Thank you!
