replacing slab, how to replace under stairs

I'll be replacing my basement slab in the spring. I plan on replacing the stairs as well after the fact.

What's the normal practice to have the concrete extend under the old stairs, instead of of cutting around it and pouring upto the existing old concrete?

Remove the stairs once the pouring begins and they can escape with a ladder? How's everyone else handle this?

get your self two 2x4's and secure the tops to the floor joists above on each side of the stairs, then secure the bottom of the studs to the bottom of the stairs. I cut the bottom step out so to give the concrete contractor room to float the slab. thus making the stairs hang from the 2x's BOB
