Default Replacing panels on screened in porch

We've got a screened in porch made up of 24" x 7'1 and 40" x 7'1 what I believe are old really poorly made screen doors.

I got a quote from a local builder for new made to order panels with glass and screens, and then a new storm door also and it came out to $2777 for 6 panels and a door.

Combination Door Co were $450 each or more - so about $3000. All of this seems like a heck of a lot of money for essentially a place to leave our shoes that we don't want to be exposed to the weather

Without the screens for the panels (solid glass on the panels, then screen/glass just for the door) it is a little more reasonable??????? at $1903. I have read a lot of people end up only swapping out the screen in the door. And we also have a back patio. So when it gets warmer we end up going back there.

Does anyone have any more... budget minded ... suggestions?

That price does sound reasonable that you were quoted, if you go the other way with just the glass which by the way must be tempered safety glass because the glass is to low to the floor.(code here ) the porch will be pretty hot in the warmer months. even with the screen in the door. You will regret it. Bob
