replacing foundation windows

I am finishing my basement and want to replace the original metal foundation windows. They are 48 x 48. Anyone know the best way to do that? Also, I saw vinyl windows at Home Depot and Lowes, would they work? If so, how is the best way to install them? Thanks for the help, Rich
