replacing floor in mobile home aka trailer

We are looking at a trailer that has some very soft spots in the floor. Apparently the floor was made with chip board. To replace that floor must I remove all the chip board or could I lay marine grade plywood over it. That would be a much easier fix. Thanks.

I've never worked on a mobile home, but I'd never leave a compromised floor in a house and cover it up.

replacing floor in mobile home aka trailer

I used to work property maintenance in a trailer park years ago and delt with soft spots in the floors from time to time...

I cut the floor in to manageable pieces using a skill saw and then used a crowbar to pry up the sections. Then cleared all the nails/screws from the joists and laid down the new floor...I put down 3/4" plywood.

Also, I split my work space up so I could replace it in sections (half and then the other half) helps if furniture is being moved around!
