Replacing Air Filter on Air Compressor
Thought this might be of interest to someone other than myself. I have a small twin tank air compressor that had a plastic air filter cannister screwed into the side. It got bumped by something and the cannister broke away from the threaded "hollow bolt-like" portion that screwed into the intake chamber. I couldn't find any glue that would re-secure the 2 plastic parts; a factory replacement was foolishly expensive; and I couldn't find a generic replacement that would fit. Finally took a small cat food can and drilled a hole in the bottom to just accept the threaded portion of the old filter. This part had a hex shaped outer portion that allowed it to be used like a bolt to attach the cat food can. All I had to do then was to stuff a piece of foam into the can and I'm good to go.
Will attempt to attach pics, but if they don't come through I'd be glad to email them direct to anyone interested.
that is smart! you could probably buy 6 new compressors for the price of buying separate parts and building one compressor from them.
