If that was made in the 1950s, you might have some trouble getting dimensional lumber to fit properly. Can't really tell from the photo but it could be true 2x4, unlike the modern stuff which is rough cut to 2x4, then planed so it loses 1/2 inch so that they are really 1 1/2" x 3 1/2", ish. Different lumber mills have slightly different plane depths. I've seen up to 1/4" difference between two pieces of the "same" lumber sizes from different mills. Frustrating as hell to work with....

But, if it is raw lumber size, you can contact a lumber mill and get the wood from them raw.
