removing wood siding
My contractor sided my 2 story house with untreated 21/32 interior pine paneling installed horizontally. Yea, I sued and won. The siding is stapled every 8 inches, top and bottom of panels.
The paneling is highly warped, so I will have to tear it off. I plan to install Hardie Plank.
I can rebuild a SBC in the dark and know which end of a hammer to hold, otherwise I am a noob and would like to head off problems before they arise.

Posting pictures and asking specific questions would be a good start.

are you planning on hanging the harti yourself , unless you have experience hanging siding , fibre cement isnt a diy project. if you want the product to last it has a very strict installation procedure to follow if you want the warrenty intact

If the siding is too difficult to pull off, cut along the studs on one side only first, then try to rotate each individual board loose. We can help you DIY with the Hardie! What is a SBC?

I’m not sure why you think installing Hardie isn’t DIY or that it's more difficult than other types of siding.
The installation guide is only 4 pages and illustrated, nothing confusing about it.
In fact throw in a couple of cam gauges and Hardie is about as easy as it gets.

if there is any type of overlap involved with the siding to be pulled off then it is always easiest to start tearing off at the top and work down from there. otherwise you are constantly fighting with the overlap from the siding piece above...

Do you have a question...or is this going to be a guessing game for everyone?

Thanks to all. I do plan a DIY job. The contractor proved that old adage of doing it yourself. I will post pictures soon and sure I will have more specific info. I don't think it will be difficult removing.. the wind has started the project.
Oh, SBC Small Block Chevy

LOL, Thanks, up past my bedtime with a week-long cold. (And I was a diesel mechanic for 4 years, even more embarrassing....) Now you know why I don't text. Sounds like T1-11 structural siding, as someone pointed out; good guides at top-right, though no horizontal applications; http://www.apawood.org/level_b.cfm?content=prd_sid_main

Everyone that's responded so far is a Contractor (or in the trades). The guy that worked on your place is an exception.
Looking forward to the pictures.
Btw, Welcome to the Forum.
