removing foam from a floor

What is the easiest way to remove foam backing from an old carpet install from a concrete basement floor? I've tried ammonia and acetone but it requires more scraping than I have the strength for. Thanks for your time

Hi - thing that comes to my mind is an oscillating tool similar to the Fein Multi-Master. They get a mint+ for the Fein but there are a lot of knock-offs out for a LOT less money, including a couple from Harbor Freight.
Personally, I have a Dremel multi-max and that, with a stiff blade scraper attached would make short work of that job.

Its almost 500 sq ft though. I was wondering if a floor sander would work but then also wonder if I have the strength to handle that

we use a regular 110v floor buffer & 80mesh screens w/sand on the floor,,, belt sanders will ' load ' the sandpaper belts w/foam - not a good idea,,, another plus is that you get to walk behind it like a man & not have to crawl about on the floor
