Removing Closet / Building Wall

My house was built in 1890. One of the bedrooms is very small (12' x 8')There is an upstairs closet off this room that juts out into the hallway. I assume it was added later. I want to remove the closet and build a wall in its place and make the small bedroom a walk-in closet.

My questions:

Would this be a weight-bearing wall?

Once I remove the closet, how would I go about building a wall in its place?

Removing Closet / Building Wall

You'd have to check to see if any ceiling joist or roof bracing, etc... is resting atop the wall to know if it's load bearing. You'll probably get your best advice by posting a diagram or picture of what you have to work with. If there's a common wall between the small bedroom and the other bedroom with the closet between you'd just cut a door opening into it. Like I said, a simple diagram or pictures would really help. You "can" alter structurally load bearing walls if you do it properly, which entails obtaining a permit and meeting applicable codes.
