remove viynl add tile


i had viynal in my master bath and i want to add tile i removed the vinal but there is a layer of thin set on the floor,
although it is smoothe do i need to break it up before putting down tile and if so how is the easiest way of doing this

Are you sure it is thinset, and not the backing off the tile? Usually you will see serpentine lines where the adhesive was put down with a notched trowel if its just the adhesive.

@ Jagens no sir it was not tile that was down it was viynal floor and there is some glue resedue but the gule is not a problem to remove,
its the smoothe layer of white thin set as we used to call it,that is what i dont want to remove because its hard to take up
if it helps my home was built in 1984
