Removal of Wet Bar

We removed the wet bar in our living Room and found that we have a 3" schedule 40 drain pvc pipe from upstairs down into the foundation. About 4 inches from that pipe is 1 1/2 inch pipe that is connected to the 3" pipe about 5 inches from the floor.

I want to connect the 1 1/2" pipe to the 3" in the ceiling so I only have one pipe to build a fluted column around.

Will this present any problems in the future.

Thank you

It might not be that easy. The pipe may be a vent. Can you take a picture or post an illustration of what you're dealing with?
