Removal of Porch Column

I want to remove a front porch column (the one to the right) but I want to make sure that it will not affect the load bearing. I'm looking to replace the two columns in front of the door with new lumber and would like to remove that third column (right). Do you think this would be ok to do?

See attached photos.

The home is cinder block build and the trusses sit onto the block and span over the porch. The porch area is 28' x 5' and the columns are supported by concrete slab (bottom) and a beam that is 3.5" x 10" x 16' (top). There is a 16' span between the 2nd column and the concrete wall (to the right).

The home has no plans and the city does not have plans due to the homes age. Would like advice from someone who has experience or suggestions.

trusses or rafters?
If they are rafters, I'm thinking a 16 1/2 ft span won't carry the weight, but I am used to working in snow country.
If they are trusses, you would need to get them inspected to confirm that the weight bearing is on the beam or the wall.
either way, I think you need to discuss this project with someone more knowledgeable, like an Engineer from your area familiar with roof structures.

common way to build having an extended truss with bearing on the house wall not the porch beam. if you are replacing posts you should have no problem, i would put a temp wall or post on either side of post while you change it out

If you stretch a line from one end to the other and the lowest joist point is in the middle then it's likely that the posts are not load bearing and were cut to fit the existing height.

If each post is load bearing there should be a sag between each post.

For an L/Δ of 180, for a span of 96", you're looking for a Δ[sag] of ~17/32".

sorry missed the removal part. thats a long span even for a cantilevered truss
