refinishing metal indoor stair railings

looking to "refinish" not paint my stair railings, should I have them sand blasted or is it something I can do myself without taking them off the stairs?

refinishing metal indoor stair railings

I have seen very few railings that would actually be hard to take down. those that are, are virtually impossible becaus ethey are built in.

might want to include a picture or at least a better description of what you want do and what you are dealing with.
