reduce noise level

I am looking for something to apply to the inside of my office door that is no longer used to block sound coming in from the factory. Would a thicker piece of blue board act as a sound (noise) blocker? Bill

Noise enters because of vibration, and the air waves passing through materials. Only way, would to build a box inside of the room. Placing foam board on the door is not going to do anything, especially in a factory. Every office that I have been in, inside a manufacturing plant, you can still hear the noise from the floor.
