Redguard vs plastiguard (Menards product)

we live in a small town where only have Mennards store,,,no lowes or Home Depot

Checked all over town and no Redguard to be found.

Mennards stuff does sound similiar as it is a mastic applied, then a fiberglsass mesh, then more mastic. I guess when it changes colors it is thick enough

Is that an equal product??

If I dont have time to do it right the first time,,,when will I ever have time to do it over again!!!

I don't know anything about the Mennards stuff, but from what you say, Redgard is nothing like it and a whole lot easier to apply. It's like a thick paint. You roll and brush it on, and when it turns bright red it's dry. Some people put on a second coat, rolling it on perpendicular to how they rolled the first coat. I did my 5-ft x 6-ft walkin shower in about 30 minutes.

I believe Redgard is a Home Depot brand. You might be able to order it from their website.

Okay Don, now you have two threads going on the same subject. Please, that gets really confusing when you do that.

Menard's sells Mapei HPG which is the same as Custom's Redgard. It's in the tile department where it should be.
