Reclaimed wood console table

Please bear with me here because I don't know a lot about wood or construction. I want to make a small entryway table for our apartment, about 40" long x 16" deep. The top would be a "slab" of finished reclaimed wood (because it's gorgeous) and the legs would be 4 hairpin legs. Here is a photo that approximates what I'm after, except this is a bench, and mine would be a taller console table:

http://remodelista.com/posts/steal-this-look-diy-entryway-with-hairpin-leg-bench

(Sorry, somehow I couldn't copy and paste the pic here) :-)

Longleaf Lumber is in Cambridge, MA, right near me, and they specialize in reclaimed lumber - mostly flooring but their web site says they also provide pieces for furniture, etc. I feel a bit funny, going in and asking for a piece of reclaimed wood that small - does anyone know if they do this kind of thing, and how much it would cost to have them make a piece for me? I can easily get the hairpin legs and my handy husband (!) could attach them to the top. . . the point is, I don't want to spend $600+ to have someone make the entire table for me. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!:)

The people who would know if they do that sort of thing would be the people who might do that sort of thing.
Why not just call them?
