re-routing central vac pipe-how to attach elbow piece

I am re-routing a central vac. pipe and I have to attach an elbow and then a longer piece of pipe.

The pipe is approx. 2 inches in diameter and is some sore of hard plastic, (I don't know the proper name for it).

What do I use to put in the elbow and then the other piece?

Is there some sort of adhesive or product that I need?

I do not presently have the central vac unit, so in essence I just want to re-route the pipe, for possible future installation.

Thanks a lot for any help.

Central Vacuum Stores at 800-221-8227

They have an adapter that will go from the vac pipe to 2" PVC. You might need one on each end of your system to use STD 2" PVC. After you get your route selected, use standard PVC primer and glue to make the connections.

They know their stuff, and don't try to over sell you on things you don't need.

Good luck...

Rip,.

Not sure if you got your answer, but the pipe is just PVC piping and there is special glue that is used, but any pvc glue from HD will work. They have both a Central Vac section and a plumbing section you could get the glue at.

P.S. Don't forget to reroute the low voltage wire as well.
