Radiant Insulation - the truth?

I've digested about all I can from manufactures web sites, so I'm looking for some non-biased information to add to the mix. If it's that good, why is it not required? Is this a viable product? What about no solar gain in the winter?

Radiant Insulation - the truth?

I'm learning about insulation right now too... from my limited understanding, it's a wonderful product for homes in areas like arizona, where they run the CAC much more than the heating. For northern climes (like where I am), I believe the lost solar gain in the winter outweighs the summer benefits, since our summers are fairly short.
