[Question]Making a Computer Desk

Hello people at DIY Chatroom, My name is Shawn and I am 21 years old, I am a complete novice at anything building so I looked online and all I ever find is making wooden desks, as wooden is great and all, I want metal legs so I come to you all for some simple questions.

1. How does one mount metal legs to a wooden surface without drilling into it?

2. will this simple design be able to hold up 3 22" monitors? That is all I want on the desk.

So I know everyone loves pictures, first I give you the reference shot of what I am trying to construct without the need of welding

Then what I am at right now in the stage

Please don't mind the room as I am in a burning mood to just build!

As you can see, I bought some 2x4's and drilled into that and am going to put a 4 inch long screw through it to support it, then I am going to drill bolt and screws through the top into the 2x4's to support the legs, you can see that there are 2 separate boards so I have to support it by the long 2x4 in the middle, it's not the prettiest design but I am on a budget, I would not of come here if I did not need the help so please people of the forum, what shall I ever do?

[Question]Making a Computer Desk

Not meaning to double post as I am updating from yesterday and giving it a little bump.

First I found these awesome tee fittings at home depot and was wondering if they would be fine for the 2 tables come off the front of the desk? Now a picture of what I am at right now

[Question]Making a Computer Desk

thank you for that but everything at ikea costs so much, I only spent about 75 dollars so far, and as I said, I am in a building mood but I am stumped on how to achieve it and when I get there if my project will stay afloat.

ikea cost so much? you are on a super tight budget then. the last time i looked it was something like $10 for each leg and like 30 for the desk top. for a custom build yourself desk thats pretty cheap i think.

[Question]Making a Computer Desk

oooooh, I thought you meant buy a desk from them, their simple desks cost like 300+, I would rather just buy the roccaforte desk. I did not know that you could buy parts from ikea separate.

[Question]Making a Computer Desk

lol, I exaggerated maybe by a little, but it does cost a fortune, I do not like ikea. But I did find some nice adjustable legs for only 15 dollars, but for the front tables, is it a good idea to put on tee fittings or is there an easier way?
