Pros vs cons for finished garages

The house I just bought has drywall hung in the garage as well as first first coat of mud and tape applied. I'm trying to decide whether I should go the extra mile and finish it with another couple coats of mud and paint.

What are the pros and cons of leaving it rough vs. smoothing it out and painting it???

Keep in mind, I spend a lot of time in the garage working on my hotrod project.

I think it would be worth finishing. As long as the first coat is Ok it should be fairly easy to add 2 more coats. Should also not be too costly to just pay a pro to do it. They will be done in 2 days and there will lilely be far less dust. The unfinished walls can never be washed. Since they are white you will likely get them very dirty working on cars. A nice coat of quality paint will clean up any time you want. Plus the resale value will be a bit higher or at least it will be easier to seel if you ever do.

Do it. You will be glad you finished it off.

Yes, I would recommend to finish it. But first ensure you have all the electric, HVAC, etc. installed that you want.
