how many small pieces are there. there should only be 2 pieces total on any run. why did you change it. i didn't see anything wrong with the before picture. have you already paid them?
That's shingle moulding not a rake board.
The board under it is a rake board not a rack board.
It does look like poop though.
I would have replaced it with vinyl rake moulding so it would never rot again.
It only needed 2, finish nails not 1/2 dozen staples.
It's also not line up with the other piece.
Also the gutter was run to long.
Although the work is kind of a mess it is definitely fixable. The real issue is whether you want to risk having the original contractor take a third crack at this. If it weren't so high up it would be an easy fix for someone with decent do it yourself skills. The comments made by others clearly explain what needs to be done. Good luck.
I do this type of work, and re-work (as in this case), and it just makes me cringe/cuss when I see this type of work done. Doesn't anyone have any idea of craftsmanship any more?
To make you feel better, you just have to wait until the paint job is done... This looks like something that is "almost done".
How much communication do you have with your hired professionals?
