it sounds startling good to me. around here the concrete alone would cost more than $600.

Agreed! That price cannot be legit. If you have them do the work for that price you will regret it.

pipeguy, tgeb,

this guy was installing gutters on my house. seamless gutters, of course, materials and labor for a 1500 sq ft house, $325, and he did a very nice job. his father installs inground cenment pools, and he said he and his dad could do it for around $1500, off the books. he did say, that $3500. would be what i would pay elsewhere. so, is it to good to be true??? oh, btw...im in nc, and he did say, it would take about 5 yards@ about $120 per yard...bob

Well a quick calculation tells me that 600 sq. ft. @5" thick would take 9.24 cubic yards, leaving nothing for waste.

Even 3" thick is 5.5 yards with no waste.

Someone will take a bath on this, the only question is, will it be him, or you!

Bobo, FYI: Around here you can barely get concrete dumped in a hole for $500 / yard. At 5" thick that's $7.71 a square foot. Good luck.

just open the yellow pages under concrete and get some prices. I had a neighbor who just had his driveway concrete last summer 2800 dollars. Those guys flew. The neighbor next to him decided to do the same went with someone else it took them twice as long.

Asphalt is half the price of concrete.

Well I was going to wait a tad on the aspalt driveway.....
But saw someone a block away doing their driveway and asked the boss to come by and see what he will charge me when I am ready...
He came by and said $3200 and I said ok I will give yea a call if your price is the best...Then he said he can do it today if I want to and I asked him whats the price and he said $3000 and then I said I will pay yeaaa cash and then the price when to $2900...
I guess its about 150ft -175 feet to the street and they made a nice large cruve so i can get into my garage.and a very large back in for guest...I feel for the price why waittttttt..JT

Around my neck of the woods, concrete generally figures a $1.25 a square foot, $1.50 for 5 inches, and $2 a square foot to prep, form, pour, and finish. Steel or fiber would be a little more. That job here would be a minimum of $2000 and probably $2200...
