prehung door rough

I am roughing a 24" prehung door. I have 26" wide X 82" high.
I'm running into a problem with my header. The frame goes off 1/2" between the 2 jack studs. I noticed this when checking with a level. Should I fix this by adjusting the jack stud to accomodate the 1/2", or by shimming within the pre hung frame?
Thanks.

you do not need to shim or nail the head jam to the studs. The trim is enough hold. This way when the header moves it does not knock your door out of whack. So the answer is .... do not worry about the uneven space above the jam, but do level the jam perfectly.
