Prefab shower base options

What options are available for prefab shower bases? Most places only have fiberglass ones, but I don't like the plasticy hollow feel of it.

A friend recommended terazzo a faux stone made of concrete. Just curious if there any other similar options?

Acrylic.
The bases are supported with a filler, they're not just laid on the floor.

Even so, acrylic has the plastic look. I've never seen one installed that didn't look & feel cheap IMO. At least not in the showrooms I've been to.

So, install a tile shower base. The learning curve is higher, but if you're happy with the look, go for it.

Cultured marble bases are nice and available from many counter top manufacturers.

Lots of colors.

I've installed many over the years without an issue,They are very heavy--get a friend to help carry it.
