Power Washing Brick House

hello,

i want to power wash my brick house and vinyl window shutters. will this damage the mortar between the bricks? the house was built in the mid '50s, and all the mortar looks to be pretty solid. also, i would imagine the power wash will remove any old, or loose paint and caulking too, right?

No one here can answer the "damaging the mortar" question, but if you start and some falls off...then move back with the wand or just be more careful. Also, yes older and loose paint will come off...I usually dont have caulk come off, but you never know.

Remember to wear your "duck suit"...I do~I never get a drop of water on me!

As a rule, powerwashing is not good for any masonry surface. That said, if you were to use something like Jomax as a cleaner and a fan tip you will probably be OK.
