porch columns rotted at the base

Porch columns rotting on bottom of columns, near base.
also don't know if the columns are load bearing or not.

Any solutions to problem other than replacement?

porch columns rotted at the base

Hi Joe, it is probably best to treat those as load bearing and change out with new posts, fiberglass instead of wood preferably .

Time for new ones. Wood will just rot again.
Vinyl or Fiberglass ones and never have to work on it again.
I'm sure someones going to suggest bondo, some sort of wood filler.
It will just be a patch job and your going to have to do it all over again.
