I am trying to figure out how to tie in a new porch roof to the existing house roof. The house is a cross-hipped roof and the porch will be in the inside corner of the L. Existing structure looks something like this:
I will try and post some actual house pics later. The house & garage roof is 6/12. I thought about tying in a shed roof but even if I start it at the ridge I can't get a 4/12 to the front of the porch which extends 10' from the house or 2' past the back of the garage. So then I thought about a gable but I don't know how that would tie into the garage as the two slopes will meet in a dead valley and worried water will collect there. Any ideas would be helpful. Really want to avoid bribing some young architect for consultation. Sorry for lack of details, hopefully pics will explain it a little better. I've also attached a little drawing that shows where porch would go. Thanks for the ideas.
