Poking holes in structure
I am about to drill holes in the base plate of a raised foundation house. Holes will be wide enough to accept 1" PVC conduit for data wiring. Four locations will be drilled, two inside and two outside walls.
What do I need to watch for in order NOT to compromise the integrity of the structure? Sent from my iPhone using DIY Forum |

What's a base plate?
Got a picture of where your planning on drilling? Are they going out through the siding, if so what type siding do you have? |

Got ya, there called bottom plates and I've never seen them doubled up, top plates get double.
What your doing will have no effect on anything. I'd suggest sealing these holes and any other places under the house where wiring and plumbing were run with some spray foam when your done. |
