will 7/16 inch thickness of plywood be acceptable as opposed to 1/2 inch? I live in a cold zone where temps can get down to -35 Celsius,,+30 Celsius in the summer,,I am replacing the exterior walls on my mobile home, and should I place them vertically or horizontally,,,

They're basically the same material.
It's the insulation you use that will deal with the heat and cold.
Install the plywood horizontally and offset the joints.

Check with your local B.D., the walls may need to tie to the frame; http://www.huduser.org/search/Bibliography.asp?id=3168

You may also need solid blocking for shear when running the wall sheathing on its side;http://www.apawood.org/pablog/index....al-or-Vertical

More on mobiles; http://www.tiedown.com/pdf/dstructural.pdf
