Please help!! Porch Roof Framing w/pics


I have been building my porch and have come to a standstill. I have got the biggest part done but just need some expert advice. I am wanting to enclose the whole roof but have no idea now what to do. I will let the Pics speak for themself

Very simple! You have to cut the existing roof overhang off and continue the porch roof underneath it. After that you have to continue the existing roof over that creating a valley.

OK Joe!! thanks for the reply. Ive been going nuts looking at this thing. I'm still a little fuzzy on what you are saying on cutting the exiting roof... Your pic makes since but not quite sure where to start.

So, does the pitch of the existing roof overhang to the right of the picture have to change (lower slope) in order to overhang the new roof to create the valley?

yes the existing roof on the right is lower than the top of the porch roof so i would say it would need change to create the valley in what Joe is saying
