Pinging Noises From Walls 1972 House

Oh blimey, i have really started to worry about the odd pinging noises coming from some walls in my brick built 1972 semi. We live near a railway line and the house shakes when really heavy trains go by, now i am having nightmares that something is seriously wrong with the house. Can anybody offer any advice?

Pinging Noises From Walls 1972 House

Are your noises near an inside wall? Is it anywhere near a water tank or bathroom? Many times pipes or mechanicals in a home will make noise, sometime normal sometimes it also can be something malfunctioning. Do you life in a single famliy home? I guess we can start with some questions and then try to find what path to follow to find you noise.
