So guys I got the foundation job goin...

My brother-in-law, who conveniently happens to be a licensed contractor took on the job for me, and in three days between three guys, had the house dug up, supported, and the block knocked out and gone. Then, 6 Amish guys (two of 'em couldn't have been but 14) drove in from 2-hours away and laid all the brick in one day (today). I haven't even seen the final product yet, I'm stuck at work all night.

I have a new found respect for anyone that lays brick, or does brick demo for that matter... some of the hardest work around as far as I'm concerned!

Any reinforcement in the walls?

Did you do anything for draintile and sump yet?

Brik 04-12-2007 02:27 PM

Brik -

See the previous post on "bowing walls".

A distaster that may be in the process of being recreated. It could be a flip.

How about the reinforcement in the wall?

Those are block, not brick, and if they did not use reinforcing, both vertical and horizontal, you may well have only a temporary solution to the problem.
